Alcohol / Cigarette Taxes: Maintain current levels.
Balanced Budget: Position unknown. Wants to reduce taxes on poor and greatly increase taxes on the rich. Wants to reduce defense spending and increase spending on health care and environment. It is unclear how it all balances out.
Capital Gains/Inheritance/Dividends/Estate Taxes: Greatly increase all of these taxes.
Campaign Finance Reform: Supports taxpayer funding for candidates who comply with spending limits; wants to raise spending limits for candidates who receive matching funds; wants to ban PACs, soft money and 529s. Wants Election Day to be a national holiday.
Charity/Child/Earned Income/Student Loan/Medical/Mortgage Tax Credits: Greatly increase Child Tax credit and maintain all of the others listed on this bullet.
Corporate Taxes: Greatly increase taxes on corporations.
Energy Independance: Encourage the development of alternative fuels and supports the use of ethanol.
Federal Income Tax: Eliminate taxes on those that earn less than $25,000 per year, and greatly decrease taxes on those who earn between $25,000 and $75,000. Greatly increase taxes for those that earn over $75,000 per year.
Gasoline Tax: Greatly increase this tax.
Free Trade: Human and worker rights records should effect our trade with nations.
Job Creation: Fund job training programs to retrain workers for in-demand jobs.
North American Free Trade Agreement: Does not support.
World Trade Organization: Withdraw.

Foreign Policy
Afghanistan: United States should increase aid but not military support in Afghanistan.
Cuba: United States should end the embargo on Cuba.
Foreign Aid: Increase foreign aid. Send aid to countries where disasters threaten human lives.
Intelligence Funding: Greatly reduce intelligence funding.
Iraq War: Phase out US troops in Iraq and phase in UN troops. Charge oil companies operating in Iraq a one-time tax to pay for reconstruction.
Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process: United States should play a leading role and should support the creation of a Palestinian state.
Missile Defense: Greatly reduce funding for Missle Defense.
Military Funding: Greatly reduce funding for pay for active duty personnel. Greatly reduce military spending, Armed Forces training, modernization of weapons and troop equipment and readiness. Greatly reduce spending on military hardware, troop retention programs and funding for research and development of new weapons systems.
North Korea: United States should use diplomatic pressure but not military force against North Korea's nuclear program. Undecided on economic sanctions.
United Nations: United States should continue membership in UN and increase participation in peacekeeping missions.
Use Of Military Power: Withdraw from Iraq, reduce military funding and participate in UN peacekeeping.
War On Terror: Stop pre-emptive war on terror; stop using military tribunals for terrorists instead of civil courts; do not hold foreign states accountable for terrorists who operate out of their country.

Social Policy
Abortion: Always should be legal.
Affirmative Action: Supports affirmative action, feels Federal Government should consider race and gender in contracting issues; supports the inclusion of sexual orientation in anti-discrimination laws. Supports affirmative action in college admissions.
Crime: Eliminate the death penalty; train convicts with job skills and help them find jobs once released; provide convicts with drug and alchol treatment; reduce prison sentences for non-violent crimes; impose stricter penalties for white collar crimes.
Drugs: Legalize possession of small amounts of marijuana. Expand funding for drug treatment programs. End the War On Drugs.
Education: Increase funding to allow states to hire more teachers; increase funding for school improvements; supports increases in funding for Pell grants and Stafford loans as well as tax incentives to help families save for college.
Environment: Strengthen Clean Water and Clean Air Acts; strengthen emissions control and fuel efficency standards; re-enter the Kyoto treaty on Global Warming and address Global Warming concerns to avert an ecological crisis.
Gay Marriage: Allow homosexuals to marry.
Guns: Renew assault weapons ban; strengthen the enforcement existing gun laws; require child safety locks on guns; require licenses and background checks for gun owners; establish a national database of ballistic fingerprints.
Health Care: Establish universal Health Care for all Americans; supports Patient's Bill of Rights;
Immigration: Allow legal immigrants to take advantage of social programs; supports amnesty for certain illegal immigrants who already reside in the USA.
Internet Regulation: Does not support government regulation of the Internet.
Patriot Act & Privacy: Admantly opposed to the Patriot Act and the erosion of privacy and civil liberties in the name of National Security.
Social Security: Allow workers to invest part of their payroll tax in private accounts and allow them the option of managing those accounts or having the government manage them; increase payroll tax to fund Social Security.
Welfare: Require those receiving welfare to spend 40 hours a week in job training programs; increase funding for child care programs; supports housing assistance for low-income families.
